Bank One and British Airways renew Visa contract

Bank One and British Airways have renewed their agreement for the British Airways Visa Signature Card, which offers card holders a number of travel benefits including the ability to earn free flights on British Airways and Oneworld Alliance airlines.

The British Airways Visa Signature card, now extended until at least March 2009, offers cardmembers benefits including unlimited points earning capability, a bonus of 10,000 Executive Club Miles with the first purchase on a new card, two miles for every US$1 spent on British Airways purchases, and one mile for each US$1 spent on all other purchases. The card also automatically provides up to US$1 million in travel accident insurance.

Once earned, the miles can be redeemed for free travel on British Airways and its airline partners, including American Airlines. A free companion ticket is also awarded when any ticket in Business Class (or higher) is purchased using the card, until the end of March 2004.

New benefits "Cardmembers will also have the opportunity this spring and summer to take advantage of some exceptional British Airways' offers for travel to Britain and Europe," said David Noyes, executive vice president of sales and marketing (North America) for British Airways.

Speaking for Bank One, which has operated the programme with British Airways since its inception in 1997, the executive vice president of relationship management, Tom Kerwin, added: "Our relationship with British Airways has been successful because we share a commitment to excellence. People want to have and use this card so we anticipate strong growth in the coming years."
