Russian loyalty card becomes Visa card

Russian restaurant chain, Rosinter Restaurants, has teamed up with Guta Bank and Visa International, to offer its clients a new Guta Bank 'Honored Guest' Visa card, incorporating the restaurant's existing loyalty programme.

Any of Rosinter Restaurants' clients can obtain the Guta Bank Honored Guest Visa card free of charge. And any of the 250,000 members of the restaurant's existing loyalty programme, Honored Guest, may apply to exchange their dedicated loyalty card for the new combined card. Application forms are being made available in the chain's restaurants.

The card functions as a regular Visa card, which means it is accepted in over 25 million outlets worldwide. Card holders will be given a number of special offers and promotions from Guta Bank, Rosinter Restaurants, and from partners of the Honored Guest programme (currently including Karlson Tourism, Focus photo shops, Nord-Ost musical and M.Video stores). Ownership of the card does not require any deposit, and carries no annual fee.

Points and partners Cardholders will gain a 10% points bonus for spending at Rosinter restaurant brands (Rostik's, Patio Pizza, TGI Friday's, Planet Sushi, American Bar & Grill, Santa Fe, Benihana, and others), regardless of whether they pay by cash or card.

And, when paying for goods and services using the new card, members earn an additional 1% of purchases in any country where Visa cards are accepted.

Rosinter expects to sign up more loyalty programme partner businesses in the near future, and expects the launch of the Honored Guest Visa card to help with that goal.

Rostislav Ordovsky-Tanaevsky Blanco, president of Rostik Group, which incorporates Rosinter Restaurants, commented: "Our priorities are not only good food and top class service but an individual approach to guests. In 1998 we launched our loyalty programme, and this year we offer a new product – The Guta Bank Honored Guest Visa card."

By the end of 2002 Guta Bank expects to issue of 60,000 of the cards, rising to 170,000 by September 2003. Cards can be issued to Russian citizens and foreign individuals alike, and the bank plans to make additional family cards available later as well.
