Today is International Women’s Day, a day set aside to celebrate the achievements of women in business and society and to advance the prospects of a gender equal world. The theme for 2022 is to #BreakTheBias. It’s a phrase that encourages action, which attracted our attention as too often, supporters of a cause can get locked up in talk rather than engaging in action.

We know we have our own work to do to #breakthebias and last year The Wise Marketer took action by launching its Women in Loyalty™ series through which we recognize and celebrate powerful women working in the customer loyalty and digital marketing industry worldwide.

As we participate in the conversation around International Women’s Day, we align with the truth that there is still much to be done to achieve a gender equal world. It’s our intention to find ways to uplift those who have been disadvantaged and held back by not having privileges on par with others. Through Women in Loyalty™, we are shining a light on the experts and the leaders in this space and support their work.

Next week, we kick off Season 2 of Women in Loyalty™ with an interview of Chayya Bassi, CLMP, Co-founder and Chief Loyalty Strategist, QBF Consulting. QBF is based in Dubai and supports clients in multiple markets. Chayya shares a great story and you don’t want to miss out on her insights.

Our plan for this series is to feature women from all markets throughout the world. This aligns with Wise Marketer’s position as the Global Voice of Customer Loyalty. During Season 1, we principally featured guests from North America. In this current year, we will be showcasing more guests from international markets. We rang the bell twice in our first episode as Melanie Parker, CLMP, Co-Founder, Stream Loyalty, and based in the UK hosted the conversation with Chayya.

If we crafted a mantra for Women in Loyalty™, it would be Recognize, Community, Collaboration. Season 1 was all about Recognition. That will always be the starting point in our episodes, but as we begin Season 2, we build the bridge to create Community among participants in the series.

In the coming months we will continue to expand Women in Loyalty™ with increased diversity of perspective and content from Female Leaders in our industry. We have two big events planned to begin this community building effort and there are opportunities for you to get involved in support of this initiative. Watch for announcements here soon and we hope that you will take action with us to #BreaktheBias.

In the meantime, check out the latest episode of Women in Loyalty featuring Sandra Sanderson, SVP of Marketing, Sobeys.
