The floral authority makes its initial foray into non-fungible tokens with two exclusive collections honoring moms
This Mother’s Day, 1-800-Flowers.com has created its own mint of NFTs to celebrate moms and all they do. Split into two collections, with illustrations by artists Devi Namira and Maaz Rahell, these NFTs reflect the special and unique bond fostered between a child and mother.
1,800 distinctive PFPs (profile pictures), a nod to the brand’s moniker, pay tribute to how moms blossom their children through love and affection. The exclusive generative traits in this “Moms Run the World” collection, which are randomly generated by an algorithm so each PFP is one-of-a-kind, also subtly include some of the other brands within the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. family. Backgrounds with strawberry fields represent the decadent dipped berries from Shari’s Berries® while backgrounds featuring pear trees illustrate the famous Royal Riviera® pears from Harry & David®. Other distinctive traits, including flowers and accessories, range from common to rare.
A second collection of 180 one-to-ones capture how a mother’s nurturing hands guide their child through the ever-blooming garden of life. This assortment, titled “The Love of a Mom,” includes 12 unique NFTs with multiple copies of each.
Rooted in the brand’s vision to inspire more expression, connection, and celebration, the collections blend the physical and virtual worlds, bringing heartfelt sentiments into the virtual environment.
“1-800-Flowers.com has a long history of innovation and always strives to be at the forefront of where consumers are going next,” said Jason John, Chief Marketing Officer, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. “These collections are a great way for us to test in this space as we delve into the possibilities within Web3 and gain a better understanding of our customers’ interest in digital products. We’re excited to officially be part of the NFT community!”

“Developing these special Mother's Day NFTs and introducing them to our customers in blockchain has been such an inspiring journey,” said Abi Sachdeva, Chief Technology Officer, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. “We are at a very early stage in understanding the opportunities and challenges associated with these technologies and applications. One thing we know is that Web3 — a vision for a decentralized internet built on blockchain technology — has infinite possibilities, and we are ready to ride that wave.”
