48 million hotel loyalty points donated to Disaster Fund
Guests of Six Continents Hotels have donated some 48 million loyalty points to the Disaster Fund.
Between September 14th and the end of 2001, Priority Club Worldwide members donated over 48m points to the American Red Cross Disaster Fund. Each 2,500 points earned a cash donation of US$10 to the fund. For the first 25m points, Priority Club and Six Continents Hotels matched the donations, which were used to provide hotel rooms and other supplies to the American Red Cross disaster-relief workers and others affected by the tragedies. The donation came to more than US$294,000. Priority Club Worldwide points can be earned at hotels across the world, including Continental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express.
