Nectar web site scoops digital media award

Since the relaunch of the Nectar website, the number of 'unique visitors' (different people making a visit to the web site each month) have increased by 49%, and page impressions (the number of pages actually seen by those users) have increased by 77%, leading to its recognition by BIMA in the 2004 internet awards.

The Nectar programme's consumer-facing web site, which was designed and built by interactive technology agency Conchango won the 2004 BIMA award for best use of the web as an information source and retail portal.

In being given the prestigious award, the web site was praised in particular for its online customer support and feedback facilities.

According to Simon Hawkes, LMUK's chief operating officer, since Nectar relaunched its website in February 2004 with the aim of reducing costs, boosting profits and enhancing user engagement, it has experienced dramatic results.

More than half of 'Nectar to Your Door' rewards claimed under the programme are now being redeemed online, and up to four times as many people use the web site for their customer service and reward redemption needs than use the programme's telephone-based contact centre.
