AAdvantage celebrates 30 years with 30 deals
After American Airlines' frequent flyer programme's launch in 1981, more than 67 million AAdvantage members have been rewarded for their loyalty with billions of miles that have been redeemed for flights, car rentals, hotel stays, vacation packages, and other travel and retail awards.
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the AAdvantage programme, American Airlines has lined up 30 new deals as part of its 'Deal 30' promotion, with deals representing a combination of airline and AAdvantage partner company offers.
While the airline is keeping most of the promotion details 'under the radar' so members will be surprised each day during the promotional period, deals that members can expect to see include:
- Flight deals;
- Bonus mile offers;
- Chances to win prizes (including a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro).
Members will find a new deal as well as a chance to win 30,000 AAdvantage miles every weekday at aa.com, up until 27th May 2011. Members can choose to receive either text (SMS) or email reminders so they won't miss any of the deals.
In addition to the daily offers and sweepstakes, every weekday during the promotion, one member's personal video will be featured on the programme's web site. These 30-second video clips were selected from entries submitted earlier in 2011 by members who wanted to tell their AAdvantage story for a chance to win 30,000 miles and have their video featured as part of the celebration.
Those who are not already AAdvantage members and don't want to wait until the programme's 40th anniversary for similar benefits and offers can enrol immediately online using the promotion code 'ADV30' to earn their first 500 bonus miles.
AAdvantage now claims more than 67 million members worldwide, and members can earn miles from more than 1,000 partner companies (including 27 hotel chains representing more than 60 brands, more than 20 airlines, 8 car-rental companies, 11 financial companies, and over 500 retailers). Members can also earn miles when making purchases with one of more than 100 affinity card products in over 40 countries.
During 2010, AAdvantage members redeemed more than 165 billion miles to claim almost 7.2 million awards for flights, upgrades and car rentals.
