Aeroplan's top tier to customise their own benefits

Air Canada's top-tier frequent flyer members have been rewarded with more flexibility and choice within the Aeroplan frequent flyer programme's benefit packages, having been given the ability to customise their own reward benefit packages within the frequent flyer scheme.

Members who achieve top-tier status (Super Elite, Elite or Prestige) receive a core set of benefits, along with additional options from which members may now tailor their own package. Notification to members on the achievement of top tier status has begun and will continue throughout early 2006. The notifications also include details on how these privileged members can choose their benefit package via the internet.

According to Sean Menke, executive vice president and chief commercial officer for Air Canada: "Increasing the choice and flexibility of benefits for our most loyal customers is consistent with our approach to simplifying travel and offering value-driven options that meet individuals' needs."

New qualification levels Members qualify for Super Elite, Elite or Prestige membership levels by earning Status Miles and Status Segments through flights booked with Air Canada and its Star Alliance partners. Status Miles and Status Segments earned in 2005 count toward top tier benefits for 2006. The qualification levels for 2006 and 2007 top tier status are:
