Air Miles, airline, bank join for tri-branded card
A new triple-branded MasterCard credit card for consumers and small businesses is to be launched in Canada by BMO Bank of Montreal, WestJet, and creator of Air Miles Canada, The Loyalty Group.
Under the new long-term exclusive agreement between the three partners, WestJet is to add its name to BMO Bank of Montreal's Mosaik MasterCard, joining the Air Miles reward programme on the card.
The new triple-branded card will provide opportunities for consumers to earn and redeem Air Miles reward miles, along with a selection of WestJet benefits. BMO is also reviewing the Mosaik MasterCard's line-up of Air Miles reward options, with a view to enhancing the benefits available to its existing cardholders.
Still planning Although at this stage no specific details of the programme are yet available, information about specific offers will be published as part of the card's official launch later in 2004. All three partners have confirmed that they are jointly developing reward offers that will fit with the value-conscious customer base of both BMO and WestJet.
"The opportunity to begin a close partnership with WestJet gives the BMO Mosaik MasterCard a 'triple advantage' in the battle for cardholder loyalty," said Rob Pearce, president and CEO of the personal and commercial client group of BMO Bank of Montreal, while reiterating the importance of the long-standing relationship BMO has with The Loyalty Group.
"The tri-branded partnership between WestJet, Air Miles, and BMO Bank of Montreal is a great example of the innovation and growth underway within the MasterCard portfolio in Canada," added Kevin Stanton, senior vice president for MasterCard Canada.
