AirBaltic launches flexible online rewards shop

AirBaltic has launched its new online 'BalticMiles Shop' in a bid to provide even greater reward value, more choice and an increased sense of fun for its frequent flyers.

The new online rewards shop, powered by Loylogic's BurnShop technology, provides a more flexible reward structure that offers programme members greater freedom of choice when redeeming loyalty rewards. For example, members can redeem for rewards starting from 1 mile, depending on their own selected cash contribution to the reward's redemption value.

In order to implement the online shop, Loylogic added the necessary management infrastructure to AirBaltic's frequent flyer programme, and assisted with the recruitment and training of the airline's management team. Part of the preparation process involved opening new offices in Riga, Latvia, to provide greater support and local knowledge for the programme's core markets.

For the programme itself, Loylogic managed, tested and implemented the shop's integration with the existing BalticMiles points engine, and uploaded all the available rewards to the online shop.

The company's Loypay solution is now also integrated with the programme (including payment gateways for the clearing of the optional cash component of reward redemptions), and all transactions are managed in members' own local currencies.

Loylogic sourced the available rewards from both international brands  and a targeted selection of relevant local partners, providing a diverse  and relevant rewards mix for the Baltic States. The online shop is also being made available to members in eight local languages.

The BalticMiles programme was launched in 2009, allowing frequent flyers to earn miles from flights and targeted spending. The Loylogic platform now allows members to redeem their miles for more than 1,500 non-flight rewards, including branded merchandise and experiential packages.

Future enhancements planned for BalticMiles include offering multiple redemption channels, the addition of a range of new points-earning options, and of course a growing number of reward redemption options.

BalticMiles currently claims some 151,000 members from 163 countries,  and now has more than 30 local merchant partners and brands including  Emihls Gustavs Chocolate, Stenders handmade bath and body cosmetics,  Taka Spa treatments, Aqua Villa dream holidays and Vina Studija fine  wine indulgences.
