Coles & NAB offer shoppers extra FlyBuys points
In Australia, Coles has announced a new FlyBuys points offer with National Australia Bank, through which members can earn extra loyalty points when using a NAB credit card to pay for groceries.
Up until 30th September 2011, FlyBuys members will receive four FlyBuys points from NAB for every Aus$5 spent in Coles Supermarkets when they pay for their groceries with a FlyBuys-linked NAB credit card.
The bonus offer is in addition to the 2 points per Aus$5 that FlyBuys members already earn from Coles for the same transaction.
According to Coles' finance director, Tony Buffin, the points boosting offer was created to encourage Coles customers who hold a NAB credit card to earn more points, and it is also part of a broader ongoing plan to revitalise the FlyBuys programme.
"When Coles acquired FlyBuys, we said we were committed to improving the programme by offering more points, more ways to earn points, and finding more exciting and compelling options for members to redeem points," explained Buffin.
"This is a relationship that NAB would like to develop further because we believe that what is good for customers is also good for business," added NAB's general manager of cards and personal loans, Michael Shurlin. "And this offer is of course available to all existing NAB credit card customers who link their card to their FlyBuys account, not just to new customers."
Household brands that participate in the FlyBuys programme include Coles, BI-LO, NAB, Kmart, Target, Coles Express, Liquorland, Liquorland Direct, Kmart Tyre & Auto Service, Jetset and Travelworld. The number of Australian households with FlyBuys memberships now exceeds 5.7 million, while overall cardholder numbers exceed 10 million.
