Delta launches loyalty payment cards in Colombia
Delta Air Lines has launched a co-branded credit and debit card programme in Colombia with Visa International and the UK-based financial services group, Lloyds TSB Bank. The card programme provides Colombian residents with the ability to earn award travel through Delta's SkyMiles loyalty programme.
Delta and Lloyds customers in Colombia can apply for any of five new co-branded cards, including Platinum and Gold SkyMiles Visa credit cards, and the first-ever Platinum, Gold, and Classic SkyMiles Visa debit cards. Colombia is the first country in which SkyMiles members may earn miles using a co-branded debit card.
Sign-up bonus As an introductory offer, customers signing up for the Delta SkyMiles Lloyds Platinum Visa Credit Card will be awarded 7,500 bonus miles with their first purchase, and customers who choose the Gold credit card will be awarded 5,000 bonus miles.
"We are excited to offer SkyMiles members in Colombia the opportunity to earn miles with a credit card, a debit card, or both," commented Rick Rasmussen, Delta's general manager of international partnerships.
Earning miles Cardholders earn one mile for every US$1 spent on their credit or debit card, and purchases of Delta Air Lines products and services using the cards attracts two miles for every US$1 spent.
In addition, Delta SkyMiles programme members can earn miles by flying on Delta, Song, Delta Shuttle, Delta Connection, Delta AirElite and Delta's worldwide partners, including the airline's SkyTeam partners.
SkyMiles offers extra mileage-building opportunities through SkyMiles partners such as the Delta SkyMiles credit cards, hotel stays, car rentals, and restaurants. Miles may be redeemed for upgrades, Crown Room Club memberships and award travel to more than 400 worldwide destinations.
