Dillard's launches loyalty rewards credit card
The US-based fashion and furnishings retailer Dillard's has partnered with GE Consumer Finance and American Express today to launch the 'Dillard's American Express Card', which rewards cardholders for their spend on the card.
The card carries an "accelerated rewards programme", with cardholders earning 2 Dillard's Reward Points for every US$1 spent at Dillard's, and 1 point for every US$1 spent at other locations where American Express is accepted.
Cardholder benefits The card has no annual fee, and provides exclusive cardholder events and special offers throughout the year. Cardholders also benefit from retail shopping protection, extended warranty, emergency assistance, cash access and access to American Express' 2,200+ Travel Services locations worldwide.
Consumers can apply for the card in any of Dillard's 330 stores, or online via the company's web site.
New relationship The Dillard's American Express Card was the first card offered under the card issuing alliance formed between American Express and GE Consumer Finance in January 2006. GE Consumer Finance is responsible for issuing the cards, managing customer relationships, and providing customer service, billing and credit management.
According to Dillard's CEO, William Dillard II, the card represents American Express' Global Network Services division's first entry into the retail co-brand card market.
