When Cheetah Digital announced their acquisition of Wayin a month or so ago, we felt it was industry news worth publishing. To be sure, the loyalty industry is going through a lot of expanding and contracting right now but it’s noteworthy when one of the most dynamic companies in this field sets its sights on another one of the most dynamic companies in this field.
I had spoken with Judd Marcello in the past and had the opportunity to get a bit of background on Cheetah and at least a glimpse into their strategy moving forward. This time, we were able to have an extended conversation and get into the details of Cheetah Digital’s acquisition of Wayin and their strategic appetite for growth.
