Expedia Rewards app arrives in Windows 8
The online travel agency Expedia.com has announced the launch of its popular Expedia App for Windows 8, allowing users of Microsoft's latest operating system to book hotels and earn their rewards from their Windows 8 computer or tablet in real time.
With more than 140,000 hotels available through the app, and the ability to save up to 60% on bookings through Expedia's exclusive mobile deals, the new Windows 8 app also offers Expedia Rewards points for each booking.
When booking through the app, customers earn loyalty points toward flight and hotel bookings through the Expedia Rewards programme (without blackout dates). They are also guaranteed that they are getting the best rate available thanks to Expedia's in-built Best Price Guarantee policy.
The new app also makes hotel planning easier with a special hotel itinerary management tool, and an option to search hotel inventory in real time. The new app also has 'urgency messaging', immediately revealing how many rooms are available at a specific hotel property at a certain price point.
The app also provides users with access to the company's Verified Reviews feature, which offers over one million Expedia-vetted and verified travel reviews written by actual Expedia travellers.
"We wanted to build a unique app for Windows 8 users, so we invested in an immersive, inviting and fun experience leveraging the native capabilities of the new Windows operating system," explained John Kim, Expedia's global product senior vice president. "We also sought to differentiate it from other apps in the Window 8 marketplace through exclusive mobile deals, reviews, and real-time availability checking."
