Fly Buys signs up mobile network partner
New Zealand-based mobile network operator 2degrees Mobile has joined the Fly Buys coalition loyalty programme, offering its customers loyalty points when paying their mobile phone bills, as well as for buying handsets and accessories.
Fly Buys Members can collect 100 Bonus Points if they become a new 2degrees 'Pay Monthly' customer before 4th July 2011, regardless of the contract term chosen, as well as 1 Fly Buys Point for every whole NZ$25 paid on a Pay Monthly plan. Pay Monthly customers must register their Fly Buys membership number with 2degrees on the web.
In addition, Fly Buys members who are on the Prepay package can collect 1 Fly Buys point for every NZ$25 they spend on top ups in a 2degrees store. The programme has also confirmed that more new opportunities will be forthcoming for Prepay customers to earn points when topping up their accounts.
Members can also earn points when they purchase phones and accessories in 2degrees stores, as well as through the 2degrees online store.
According to Lance Walker, CEO for programme operator Loyalty New Zealand, "2degrees is provides our members with a new way - the first telecoms operator in the programme - to collect points based on their monthly mobile phone bills. At the same time, Fly Buys offers a point of differentiation for 2degrees in the cut-throat mobile market."
Larrie Moore, CMO for 2degrees, noted that joining Fly Buys will put the brand in front of a wealth of new and existing customers from the programme's 2.5 million member base, which also includes some 115,000 businesses: "This partnership gives us invaluable exposure in terms of attracting new customers as well as rewarding our current ones."
Fly Buys, established in 1996, now has 57 partner retailers, including well known brands such as Shell, State, BNZ, New World, Noel Leeming, and Mitre 10.
Fly Buys currently claims more than 1.4 million membership accounts, accounting for 2.55 million individual card holders. On a daily basis, Fly Buys cards are swiped more than 300,000 times and 2,000 rewards are sent to members, on average.
