Hbc expands relationship with Air Miles Canada

Alliance Data Systems and Hudson's Bay Company (Hbc) have signed a renewal agreement to continue Hbc's sponsorship of the Canadian Air Miles Reward programme, and to add Hbc as an Air Miles rewards supplier.

Beginning this month, Hbc gift cards will be added to the Air Miles Reward programme portfolio, which will allow Air Miles collectors to redeem their reward miles for gift cards at selected Hbc family stores.

Already one of Air Miles Canada's top 15 reward-issuing partners, Hbc operates more than 570 stores throughout all Canadian provinces, under retail formats including department stores (The Bay), mass merchandising (Zellers), specialty stores (Home Outfitters and Designer Depot), and discount stores (Fields).

Reward options Some two-thirds of Canadian households actively collect Air Miles reward miles through more than 100 sponsors, representing thousands of retail and service locations nationwide. The reward miles they collect can already be redeemed for over 800 different rewards, including travel, movie passes, entertainment attractions, and electronic goods, among others.

According to John Scullion, president for Alliance Data's loyalty and marketing services division, "The contract renewal and expansion with Hbc demonstrates our growth-focused strategy for the Air Miles Reward programme as we continue to expand existing sponsor relationships."

Hbc has been an Air Miles Reward programme sponsor since 1998.
