Earlier this year, Penn National Gaming acquired Pinnacle Gaming. The massive $2.8 billion deal makes Penn National Gaming one of the largest casino corporations in the country.

The new Penn National Gaming may not have the largest casinos in the country. However, the new deal means that they will operate more casinos and racetracks than any other company in the US. After the acquisition, Penn National Gaming will operate more than 40 properties in 15 states.

MYCHOICE CARD BENEFITS FOR ALL

While Penn National Gaming will be the owner of the properties, they will actually be using the loyalty club from Pinnacle Entertainment instead of their own Marquee Rewards. In 2019, the Marquee Rewards program will be migrated over to the mychoice players club.

Both loyalty programs will continue to offer the same tier point earning and benefits in the new year. Either players club card may be used during the beginning of 2019. Penn National Gaming says that mychoice will eventually combine the best feature of both loyalty clubs.

Marquee Rewards players will have their card level matched and will receive the corresponding mychoice card in mid-2019. There should be another announcement about the new mychoice players club sometime in the second or third quarter of 2019.

BETTER SYNERGY MOVING FORWARD

Combining the players’ clubs is usually the largest part of a casino merger for the customers. Once the two systems are merged, the new operator will have better marketing capabilities. The main thing customers will notice is increased offers to new casino locations.

The new mychoice loyalty club will combine the best of both programs. One of the benefits of both programs is that they’re a way for casino guests around the country to access discounted or complimentary hotel rooms.

Marquee Rewards offers deals at Tropicana and M Resort while mychoice has a partnership with MGM Resorts. It’s unclear if the MGM/mychoice partnership will be affected by the merger of Pinnacle and Penn National Gaming.
