Intellisync launches mobile CRM & sales application

Oracle/PeopleSoft has launched a new Intellisync-powered mobile sales product in the EnterpriseOne line, aimed at bringing data from the company's existing software further into the mobile computing arena.

According to developer and marketer of wireless software for the worldwide mobile communications industry, Intellisync Corporation, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11 Mobile Sales has been particularly designed to extend Oracle/PeopleSoft data to users of laptop computers and tablet PCs.

Mobile Sales is the second Intellisync-based product in the EnterpriseOne line. PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne 8.11 PIM Sync provides server-to-server synchronisation of contacts, calendar entries and tasks between EnterpriseOne 8.11 and Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino groupware.

PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne Mobile Sales integrates with the Sales Force Automation and Sales Order Entry modules of the EnterpriseOne CRM application family, allowing salespeople to place orders and access contacts, leads, opportunities, forecasts and tasks while they're away from the office, using their laptop or tablet PC.

"Through a two-way synchronisation process users can access and manipulate their contact, appointment, and to-do information with popular productivity tools such as Palm OS handhelds and Microsoft Outlook," noted Mark Israelsen, vice president of market development and partner programmes for Oracle.

The global IT research firm recently ranked Intellisync as the #3 mobile middleware provider globally, based on the company's 2003 revenues and its 24.1% market share growth from 2002 to 2003.
