Jet Airways and Lufthansa FFPs partner up
The Indian airline Jet Airways has set up a reciprocal frequent flyer agreement with Lufthansa, through which members of both loyalty programmes are able to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles throughout both airline networks.
Members of the Jet Privilege programme now earn JPMiles when using Lufthansa's 13,200 weekly flights to 188 destinations in 78 countries, which include 42 weekly flights to Frankfurt/Munich from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, India.
Members of Lufthansa's frequent flyer programme, Miles & More, can also earn and redeem miles on all flights operated by Jet Airways, including all domestic and international routes (representing 48 destinations in total).
Growth trends According to Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, CEO for Jet Airways, "The growth trends being seen in frequent flyer programmes, both in India and abroad, and the resulting increase in the consumer demand, are guiding our FFP strategy. Jet Privilege had an exponential increase in the past few years."
Jet Privilege currently claims more than 500,000 members, and offers mileage accrual and other benefits when members use the services of global partners including other airlines, financial institutions and banks, hotels and resorts, car rental agencies, publications and telecommunication service providers.
Miles & More is the frequent flyer programme of Lufthansa, Adria Airways, Air Dolomiti, Air One, Austrian Airlines, Croatia Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Luxair and SWISS, and currently claims some 11 million members. The programme has also partnered with a number of hotel groups, travel companies, and car rental agencies.
