Jo-Ann Stores launches loyalty credit card

The US-based fabric and craft retailer Jo-Ann Stores has joined forces with Barclays Bank Delaware (formerly Juniper Bank) to launch a new co-branded credit card, the Jo-Ann Platinum MasterCard, linked to the company's Preferred Customer programme.

The Jo-Ann Platinum MasterCard will allow customers to earn up to 5% of their card purchases toward "Creative Cash". Customers earn 5 points for every US$1 spent at Jo-Ann stores (or online at JoAnn.com), or 1 point per US$1 spent on all other purchases using the card.

When customers reach 1,000 points, they automatically receive a US$10 Creative Cash Card. For every 500 points earned above 1,000 points, they then receive an additional US$5 in Creative Cash. And after their first purchase or balance transfer, they receive a bonus US$10 Creative Cash Card.

Loyalty linkage New credit card holders will be automatically enrolled in Jo-Ann's Preferred Customer loyalty programme, and receive additional coupons and sale notifications.

"We value our guests and are constantly searching for ways to improve and grow our customer relationships," commented Kevin Brown, senior vice president of marketing for Jo-Ann Stores.

Jo-Ann Stores reports more than US$1.8 billion in annual sales, and operates 800+ stores throughout 47 US states. Barclays has over 40 existing card partnerships with US-based travel, entertainment, consumer, automotive and educational institutions, including Barnes & Noble, West Marine, USAir, Travelocity, Harvard, and UBS among others.
