Keep the Change helps post-hurricane rebuilding

Bank of America has said that it will match 5% of all consumer debit card savings resulting from its Keep the Change programme up to 23rd December 2005. The funds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity International, which will use the funds to continue its home-building efforts in the hurricane-affected Gulf States. When consumers sign up for the Keep the Change scheme, the amount of every purchase they make with a Bank of America debit card is automatically rounded up to the nearest whole dollar, and the difference is transferred from their current account to their savings account. The timing of the offer aims to encourage consumers to use Bank of America debit cards throughout the holiday season to help hurricane victims while they do their holiday shopping.
