Continuing our Women in Loyalty™ series, we are lucky to be joined in Episode #6 by Andrea Brecka, General Manager, Retail Canada, Shell. Andrea will be hosted by Rachel MacQueen, SVP, Marketing & Collector Experience, AIR MILES/Loyalty One.
Andrea has served as the president of Shell Canada’s Women’s Network and participated as a global mentor in the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. She has also represented Shell at the 2015 Governor General Canadian Leadership conference, is a member of the Diversity Council of Canada, and has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Calgary Haskayne school of business.
Andrea Brecka is clearly passionate about leadership and actively advocates for closing the gender divide. Consistent with that mission, she plays a sponsor role in various Shell diversity networks and is leading Shell’s 2019 United Way campaign.
Rachel MacQueen is a notable presence in the loyalty industry and is among the leadership of Canada’s premier coalition loyalty program, AIR MILES. Rachel will be hosting this episode and two to follow in a three-part Women in Loyalty series in collaboration with AIR MILES.

Andrea Brecka is General Manager, Retail Canada, Shell. Andrea’s 25-year career in Shell has spanned many of Shell’s business areas, including refining, trading & supply, oil sands and retail. She currently leads Shell Canada’s retail business, where she inspires her organization to fulfil its purpose: making life’s journeys better for Canadians by enriching today and creating a more sustainable tomorrow. Andrea also serves as a director and vice president for Shell Canada Limited. Andrea is passionate about leadership and actively advocates for closing the gender divide. As head of Marketing, Rewards and Customer Care, AIR MILES, Rachel MacQueen oversees the teams that design and deliver the end-to-end Collector experience for our 11 MM Collectors. This includes creating desire for the Brand and currency through Marketing efforts such as Brand campaigns, social and traditional media, promotions, direct-to Collector engagement, and in-store POP; Rewards and benefit offers like travel, merchandise, AIR MILES Cash, and events; as well as through the services provided to Collectors online, on the phone, and via social community management. Since joining the AIR MILES Reward Program in 2004, Rachel has assumed several roles integral to the organization’s brand development including leadership positions within Corporate Marketing and Communications, and the Knowledge Office. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University.
