Liz Claiborne does loyalty credit card with HSBC
The US-based fashion apparel retail group Liz Claiborne has signed HSBC for its new range of private label credit cards, aimed at regular shoppers at the retailers' various brand stores.
Apart from providing the obvious convenience and branded association of a co-branded credit card, the new card range is aimed at establishing loyalty with the retailer's individual brands. Each of the retail stores, which include Lucky Brand Jeans, Elisabeth, Mexx, Liz Claiborne, Dana Buchman and Ellen Tracy Outlet, will have its own credit card bearing its respective brand name.
Earn points In addition to the private label credit programme, Elisabeth cardholders will benefit from a points-based loyalty rewards programme, through which they will earn 1 point for every US$1 charged to the credit card.
Burn points Cardholders will then automatically by mailed a reward certificate at the end of each quarter for the number of points earned (a classic technique for helping to limit 'breakage', or unredeemed points). These certificates will be redeemable for merchandise at Elisabeth stores only.
According to Paul Thomasset, president for Outlet at Liz Claiborne, "Today's shopper expects a lot from the stores they frequent and the private label credit programme we've created with HSBC will help us to provide the service and convenience consumers demand."
Liz Claiborne designs and markets fashion apparel and accessories for women, men, teens, children and infants, as well as fragrances for women and men.
