The Loyalty Academy, a professional education institution dedicated to advanced learning and understanding of the global loyalty marketing industry, held it's inaugural event in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on November 18th. Approximately 40 loyalty professionals from 7 different countries and covering all facets of the industry participated.

In addition to the in-person participation, a live stream channel was established over the internet for real-time attendance from the convenience of a professional's home or office.

The event included educational sessions delivered by loyalty marketing experts from around the world.

Topics covered included the rise of coalitions, millennial marketing, analytics and data driven marketing, the intersection of mobile and payment technologies and new reward strategies - all presented from the perspective of the loyalty marketing industry.

A special key note address was delivered by Rick Ferguson, a long time loyalty industry thought leader, covering the current state of disruption in the industry and what the potential implications are for the future.

A panel of experts from 4 different countries fielded questions from both the live stream and in-person audiences and offered both contrasting and parallel views of the loyalty marketplace in their region of the world.

During the session the 2016 educational calendar for The Loyalty Academy was unveiled. Up to 18 different learning modules covering very specific topics of interest to loyalty marketers are scheduled for on-line delivery in 2016.

The Academy's Educational Director, Mike Capizzi, also described the process by which professional certification could be earned by loyalty marketing practitioners. The initial faculty members were also introduced - a group with more than 100 years of combined loyalty experience covering three continents.

The curriculum will also include in-person events held in various global markets and a rigorous "peer review" process for those candidates who have met the requirements for certification. The first on-line learning modules will launch in February 2016 (see http://loyaltyacademy.org for details as new courses are scheduled).
