Majority of Americans Say Loyalty Programs Influence Hotel Booking

Highlight: Hospitality guest experience and retention platform SevenRooms has uncovered the key profiles of today’s hotel guests and divulges which incentives drive loyalty in ‘Booking Behaviors: Exploring Hotel Guest Loyalty.” The study, commissioned through independent third-party research firm YouGov, profiles the Personal Patron and the Business Traveler, diving deep into each guest’s attitude and preferences when it comes to booking a hotel and, subsequently, returning in the future. While the study revealed that over a third (34%) of Americans say recognizing their loyalty status upon check-in increases their chance of rebooking, recognition isn’t enough. Rather, it is how hotels appeal to their varying preferences that will prompt these guests to rebook.

Marketers differ on the metrics that matter for live events, finds new research from Elevate

Highlight: Global staffing partner for brand experiences Elevate commissioned a Censuswide survey of 500 brand decision-makers across the UK, USA, Austria, France and Germany, to understand the metrics that matter to marketers around event activations, and whether they currently have the same understanding of event effectiveness as other marketing activities. By encouraging event marketers to be more demanding in terms of measurable KPIs and evaluated ROI, Elevate hopes its findings will be a game-changer for reporting in the events sector... Ed Wood, CEO at Elevate, commented: “It’s clear that there is little industry alignment in terms of how events should and can be measured. Whilst allowing for every event working to different goals, it’s clear that there is room for greater understanding of what’s possible in event measurement across the board.

B2B

Agency-owner Goes Viral on LinkedIn With Post Announcing Launch of Four-day Work Week

Highlight: The CEO of a digital PR agency has gone viral on LinkedIn after his post announcing that the company would switch to a four-day work week received more than 120,000 reactions in three days. Fery Kaszoni, the founder of Search Intelligence, a leading digital PR agency based in Witney, Oxfordshire, shared a post on the professional networking platform which might have given the initial impression of a crackdown on company perks. The post began: “Enough is enough! No more pizza Fridays at our company. We are also cutting out the Beer Friday initiative. No more beers or alcohol on Fridays. And no more casual dress for our staff members on Fridays, either.” However, rather than taking benefits away from employees, the update revealed that the company would in fact be introducing a major new one – every Friday off.

PAYMENTS

Match Group sues Google over ‘monopoly power’ in Android app payments

Highlight: Match’s lawsuit is the latest instance of app developers demanding relief from Google and Apple over the 30 percent standard cut — now, sometimes 15% — that those tech giants extract from in-app payments. Longstanding tensions around the issue boiled over in 2020 when Epic Games sued Apple for antitrust violations, a case that didn’t result in a clear-cut victor but did force Apple to allow developers to point their users to alternative payment options. Facing pressure over its restrictive payment choices, Google recently launched a pilot program that would allow apps to offer an alternative payment option along with Google Play’s own system within apps. Spotify was the only company named as a participant in the pilot program, and Match claims that the company has rebuffed its own efforts to sign up.

Together with other brands in Designer Brands' portfolio including Vince Camuto, Jessica Simpson, Lucky Brand and more, Warehouse Reimagined highlights the Company's long-range plan to grow its Owned Brands to account for nearly 30% of sales by 2026. As Designer Brands puts more emphasis on these brands, the Company will lean into its established infrastructure, fully integrated sourcing and loyalty program to grow market presence.
