Loyalty platform integrates memberships with Facebook

The loyalTXT cardless retail loyalty platform from Sundrop Systems has been upgraded to fully integrate social media support using Facebook Connect.

loyalTXT uses the consumer's mobile phone number or email address as a unique identifier, and data collection and communication is conducted via either text messaging or email.

Using Facebook Connect, the system now offers consumers a one-click registration option for enrollment in any retail loyalty programme based on the platform. This connection expands the merchant's marketing reach beyond directly enrolled participants to include their Facebook friends in a socially relevant and unobtrusive way.

Participants' loyalty programme activities with their favourite merchants are automatically integrated into their Facebook newsfeed, giving their friends an opportunity to interact as well, which also helps to increase the merchant's exposure among the member's peers.

Consumers can enrol in a merchant's loyalty scheme simply by registering their mobile phone number or email address during their visit. Then, while completing the registration process later on at home, consumers are presented with the option to connect via Facebook.

When selected, loyalTXT automatically posts registration, reward notices, birthday gifts and other messages from the merchant to the consumer's Facebook wall along with various personally-tailored action links for the member's friends to use.

These tailored links allow friends to take advantage of special offers from the merchant to join the loyalty programme.
