Lufthansa joins with new hotel loyalty programme

The luxury hospitality company, The Leading Hotels of the World Ltd (LHW), has launched its first loyalty programme in conjunction with the European airline, Lufthansa, through which programme members are awarded Lufthansa 'Miles & More' frequent flyer miles for making hotel bookings.

Miles & More members earn 500 award miles per stay at any of the 138 qualifying hotels worldwide, and double miles are to be awarded for hotel reservations made up to March 31st, 2004 (for stays completed during this promotional period). Among the participating hotels are the Hotel Plaza Athenee (Paris), Hotel Cipriani (Venice), The Milestone Hotel (London), and The Peninsula (Hong Kong).

To receive their Miles & More mileage credit, guests present their frequent flyer programme membership card upon check-in at the hotel. Mileage credit eligibility is based on rate levels established by each individual hotel.

"We strongly believe that this alliance with Lufthansa offers ideal mileage credit benefits to our global customer base," said Marshall Calder, senior vice president of marketing for LHW.
