According to Ed French, Marriott's senior vice president of customer relationship marketing, people choose to join the programme because it offers them value for money, and because they want to be rewarded for their loyalty to the brand.
"The growth of the programme is due to Marriott's portfolio throughout the world, its reputation for providing excellent service, and the range of hotels where points can be earned and redeemed," commented French.
Marriott International, which has approximately 128,000 employees, operates and franchises hotels under the Marriott, JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Residence Inn, Courtyard, TownePlace Suites, Fairfield Inn, SpringHill Suites and Ramada International brand names.
