MasterCard launches business card discount scheme

MasterCard Worldwide has launch of a discount rewards programme for its BusinessCard credit and signature debit card holders, called 'MasterCard Easy Savings', including discounts from merchants in the airline, hotel, restaurant, travel and other business service sectors.

The programme was launched to provide US-based small business cardholders with automatic savings on business-related goods and services when they use their MasterCard to pay.

Popular demand According to MasterCard's own research, 75% of the small businesses surveyed that use cards to pay for business expenses are "strongly interested" in such savings programmes, and many small business owners considered a merchant savings programme to be "important" or "very important" in helping them to better manage their business.

According to Bruno Perreault, group head for small and mid-sized enterprises at MasterCard Worldwide, the programme is an extension of MasterCard's ongoing commitment to empower small businesses with payment solutions that help them manage and grow their business.

Partner benefits The programme works for the merchant partners as well, as Easy Savings provides participating merchants and financial institutions with a good opportunity to build additional loyalty and incremental sales.

MasterCard Easy Savings has initially partnered with a range of business-relevant companies including Adminstaff, Avis, Budget, DHL, HRTools.com, Maggiano's Little Italy, Midwest Airlines, Mimeo.com, SurePayroll, Website Pros, and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Financial institutions currently offering the Easy Savings programme include Bank of America, Bank of the West, KeyBank, Washington Mutual, and Wells Fargo. Other merchants and financial institutions will be added to the programme over time.
