Maximiles & MasterCard launch Dutch cashback scheme

The European online loyalty programme operator Maximiles has partnered with MasterCard Europe to launch an online cashback discount programme in the Netherlands for all MasterCard customers.

The programme was designed as a 'loyalty portal' for MasterCard customers and allows members to earn cashback from 230 e-retailers across a number of sectors.

Customers gain access to price reductions for purchases including travel, food, fashion, leisure and homewares, amongst others. The programme will also regularly feature promotions and discounts, which will be exclusive to MasterCard customers.

"Dutch consumers are among the most active e-shoppers in Europe", explained Nordyn Yacine, marketing e-commerce manager Europe for MasterCard Europe. "We wanted to make sure that we provide added value for our Dutch cardholders by providing more than just a basic payment system."

The programme, available online at (the name means 'Make more of your card') was designed to recruit as many MasterCard customers as possible.

Each time a consumer makes a purchase using their MasterCard at one of the programme's partners, they receive a credit to their account varying from 1% to 30% of the purchase total, depending on the merchant. Members do not have to request their cashback rebate. Instead, credit transactions simply appear on their monthly credit card statement.
