Michaels Unveils Revamped Rewards Program

Reimagined rewards program introduces better perks, richer benefits, and more ways for loyal shoppers to earn on everyday purchases

Michael’s, known as North America’s leading destination for creating and celebrating, announced it is making an investment in customer loyalty with enhancements to Michael’s Rewards. As of March 1st, the retailer transitioned all loyalty members and cardholders to its refreshed program offering.

Michaels Companies Inc. operates over 1,300 stores in 49 states and Canada and online at Michaels.com and Michaels.ca. The Michaels Companies, Inc. also owns Artistree, a manufacturer of custom and specialty framing merchandise. Founded in 1973 and headquartered in Irving, Texas, Michaels is “the best place for all things creative”.

The updated Michael’s Rewards includes receipt-free returns and a simplified three-tier structure based on annual spend, with the top tier delivering up to 9% earnings in recognition of its most dedicated shoppers. Each tier has a spending threshold for qualification, which unlocks a different rebate percentage.

Tiers are Red (3%), Gold (6%), Platinum (9%) and include a variety of benefits including a variable Birthday Perk - up to 50% for top-tier members. Gold and Platinum members enjoy Everyday Perks (20%–25% off regular-priced items) with First-look at new products and events for Platinum members.

Holders of the Michael’s credit card earn Platinum level benefits plus 30% off all regular purchase price items every day. There and many more benefits can be found here, with details of the announcement in the official press release.

These updates reflect Michaels’ ongoing commitment to providing a best-in-class shopping experience by delivering exceptional value to customers—no matter what they are shopping for. Michaels is also launching its loyalty program in Canada for the first time next month.
