Miles & More launches loyalty-based online mall

A multi-year deal between Lufthansa German Airlines, Miles & More International, and Advantex Marketing has been signed to build a North American online shopping mall for the Miles & More frequent flyer programme.

Miles & More members will earn miles for purchases when shopping online at the Miles & More Mall (shopmilesandmore.com), which will offer a range of North American e-retailers including Lands' End, Dell Home Systems, FTD.com, Harry and David, Nordstrom.com, and The Sharper Image, among others.

With the 2006 holiday shopping season in mind, the mall is scheduled to launch in October 2006.

Day-to-day operations Advantex's responsibilities for the North American Miles & More Online Shopping Mall include web site development and maintenance, merchant management and marketing, award processing and fulfilment, database management, analytics and reporting, and other services related to the site's operations. Advantex earns its income from participating e-retailers on every purchase originating from its branded online shopping malls.

According to G. Randall Munger, chairman and CEO for Advantex, "Our partnership with the Miles & More programme opens the door to a large and lucrative market for Advantex and its participating e-retailers - North American consumers who are international travellers. This group includes high-income business people and professionals."

Miles & More currently claims some 12 million members around the world, of which 10% live in North America.
