Nectar eStores rewards e-shopping around

The eStores online shopping service of the UK-based Nectar coalition loyalty programme has launched a product comparison search engine, allowing members to compare the prices of thousands of products, and then collect Nectar points for consequent purchases.

For the new service, Nectar's operator, Loyalty Management UK (LMUK), partnered with (which provides the product data) and Locayta (which provided the price comparison search engine).

Multiple retailers involved The new shopping search engine looks for the best possible prices on products across a number of online retailer stores, including Apple, Comet, Curry's, Pixmania and

The search engine also makes it possible for members to compare product types, specifications, as well as prices.

Awareness campaign Throughout 2008 Nectar will be raising awareness of the search engine among its member base, using e-mail messages and the web site (which currently receives over 1 million unique visitors a month).

Over half of all UK households now have a Nectar card, and between 60% and 70% of those households have access to the internet.
