Nectar extends its Tussauds rewards

A long-term partnership has been agreed between leisure and entertainments company, The Tussauds Group (TTG), and Nectar programme operator, Loyalty Management UK (LMUK). The deal offers Nectar loyalty programme members the option of redeeming Nectar points for free entry to TTG's attractions, theme parks, and castles.

Although Tussauds' theme parks have been a cornerstone of the Nectar rewards structure since the programme's launch in September 2002 (see feature article), LMUK's market research has shown that free entry to theme parks is a key reward for Nectar collectors. The extended deal was struck to ensure that this need can carry on being met.

Major venues Nectar collectors are able to redeem points for free entry to Alton Towers (2,500 points per person), Warwick Castle (1,500 points per person), Madame Tussauds (2,500 points per person), Chessington World of Adventures (2,500 points per person), and Thorpe Park (also 2,500 points per person).

"We know from research that the summer holidays can be an expensive time for parents trying to keep their children entertained," explained Francis Riley, head of rewards for LMUK. "Our long-term deal with the Tussauds Group means that Nectar collectors can continue to get free entry to some of the UK's most popular and exciting theme parks and attractions."

Andy Davies, commercial director for The Tussauds Group, added: "Our strategy remains focused on enhancing our customers' enjoyment of the rides and attractions we offer, and our partnership with Nectar emphatically endorses that."

Earning and redeeming Nectar points can currently be collected at 1,800 outlets of Sainsbury's, Debenhams, BP, and wherever Barclaycard is accepted. And, since June 13th 2003, points can also be earned at more than 2,700 outlets of Vodafone UK, Thresher Group, Adams Childrenswear, and Ford Motor Company.

Points to be redeemed at Tussauds attractions need to be changed into Nectar vouchers first, which can be done either at the collector's Sainsbury's home store, or by calling the Nectar rewards line. When the vouchers are received, they can then be presented for entry to any Tussauds Group attraction.
