The UK children's charity, NCH, has been chosen as the sole charity partner for the Nectar coalition loyalty programme, meaning that members of the loyalty scheme can now donate Nectar points to help the charity.

NCH was selected by Nectar's operator, Loyalty Management UK (LMUK), following an online survey which revealed that children's charities were the most popular with existing Nectar collectors. NCH is one of the UK's main children's charities, and is currently supporting more than 100,000 young people and their families through over 500 different projects.

Supported projects
All the Nectar points donated will contribute to two specific projects: 'More Than Words' and 'Big Days Out'. The More Than Words project provides communication tools (such as state of the art IT equipment and sensory rooms) to help disabled children communicate more effectively. For example, children learn to communicate their thoughts and feelings through special keyboards and computer packages which prove to be a real 'lifeline' to their families and friends.

The Big Days Out project specifically targets the thousands of children who dedicate their time to caring for disabled or ill parents or family members. It allows these 'carer' children to experience a slice of normal life on organised days away, with the opportunity to take part in a range of activities such as climbing and archery. In addition to the days out, NCH also provides facilities for families to enjoy a weekend away or take a holiday.

Donation
Nectar collectors can nominate their favoured NCH project when they call the Nectar rewards hotline to donate their points. A minimum of 250 points can be donated at one time, and any multiple of 250 points thereafter. For every 250 points donated, Nectar will contribute 1.25 to the charity, until a total of 75,000 has been contributed for the year. Thereafter for every 250 points donated, 1 will be contributed.

"We are very pleased to support NCH. Their teams work tirelessly to help children from all walks of life and we know that the donations from Nectar collectors will make an enormous difference to the project work they undertake," commented Richard Campbell, marketing director for LMUK.

Simon Burne, director of marketing and fundraising for NCH, added: "I am delighted that Nectar collectors have chosen to back NCH - we greatly value their support for our vital work with children and young people all over the UK."
