New loyalty & gift-card scheme for golfers

The Canadian golf course operator KaneffGOLF has launched a loyalty rewards programme for member and non-member golfers at its six golf courses in Southern Ontario, based on real-time loyalty and stored-value gift card technology from Ernex.

The company wanted to make its points and redemption structure easy to understand, so 1 KaneffGOLF Rewards Point is awarded for each Can$1 spent on green fees.

Redemptions Once enough points have been accumulated they can then be redeemed for green fees at any KaneffGOLF facility. The number of points needed to claim a free round of golf vary by the course as well as peak and off-peak times.

Corporate loyalty Apart from the launch of the loyalty programme, KaneffGOLF has also worked with Ernex to launch a stored-value gift card programme, while at the same time moving its payment processing facilities over to Ernex parent company Moneris.

KaneffGOLF is also planning to use the loyalty programme as an incentive for golfers who attend corporate events at its courses by providing golfers at selected events with a loyalty card pre-loaded with points.

According to Malcolm Fowler, vice president and general manager for Ernex: "A value-add such as a custom loyalty solution that encourages repeat visits and spending from loyal customers is akin to having a specially designed club in your bag.
