Nortel Networks launches sales partner rewards in India

The communication services firm, Nortel Networks, has launched a new racing-themed channel partner rewards programme called 'Overdrive' to encourage employees of its sales partners in India.

The new Nortel Networks Overdrive programme, which is managed by pan-Asian relationship management consultancy, SurfGold, allows Nortel Networks' nPower channel partners to earn and accumulate OverDrive points which can then be redeemed for prizes, holidays, and other benefits.

The aim of the new rewards programme is to encourage sales and pre-sales teams to work in unison to earn points, with points earned from sales being shared among the members of each channel partner's team, and are also subject to a revenue target threshold that the members must achieve before they can actually redeem those points.

Loyalty platform SurfGold deployed its Loyalty Engine to support the multi-layered and multi-tiered rewards programme, integrating the system with Nortel's existing MIS systems. Real-time transaction capture means that the programme managers can see participation and sales throughput as it happens.

The programme's promotions module can also run various short-term campaigns to induce sales spikes for specific products. Such campaigns can be executed from time to time to maintain momentum and to keep up participants' levels of excitement about the programme.

Educational bonuses SurfGold is also to maintain the online redemption catalogue where programme participants can choose their rewards for instant redemption. The firm's loyalty platform will also be used to launch quizzes and guided tours to impart product knowledge in an innovative and rewarding way. Members can earn extra points through the programme's web site by taking part in these activities.
