Online marketers offered new RSS marketing tool

Through RSS and content syndication services, content management software provider CrownPeak is offering a platform that allows marketers to create RSS marketing feeds for their companies' web sites.

Verticals markets including publishing, non-profit and government already use RSS (Really Simple Syndication) to distribute news and information to customers and business partners. RSS also allows other web sites to feature an organisation's content automatically, helping to expand their audience and ultimately drive conversions.

The company's RSS platform offers automated RSS feeds, through which the web site marketing manager can create content that's automatically picked up by any clients or partners that subscribe to the feed. These feeds can also be automatically created based on other content from the corporate web site.

Personalisation The company's RSS feeds can also be personalised according to each user's own preferences. Users can define a search using a keyword or phrase, based on special interests, and then subscribe to the resultant RSS feed that automatically hands over any new content that matches their interests.

The system also offers both inbound and outbound content syndication. This means that companies can use CrownPeak CMS to import and publish any kind of XML content feed (the data protocol behind standard RSS feeds). Any RSS feed can be automatically imported into the CMS, and refreshed at any time interval, and then either re-published as part of a corporate RSS feed, or published as ordinary web site content.

CrownPeak works with clients including Hyundai Motors, the State of Virginia, the University of Southern California, Crain Communications, and Trek Bicycles.
