Pigsback.com, an online community that rewards consumers for various brand-related interactions and activities, has partnered with loyalty management firm Reward to launch a High Street loyalty programme in the UK.

The company's own research among some 2,000 members revealed that 98% wanted to save money in the High Street as well as with online retailers.

Reward's retail network
By partnering with Reward, Pigsback.com will now be able to offer its 650,000 members the opportunity to shop at a wide range of High Street stores throughout the UK, while adding the points they earn to their Pigsback.com PiggyPoints account. PiggyPoints are redeemable for a variety of rewards including money-off vouchers.

Pigsback.com has implemented Reward's loyalty points collection technology so that members can simply register their existing payment cards to start earning PiggyPoints at participating retailers. Reward's partners online and offline include Superdrug, CineWorld, Halfords, JJB, Little Chef, Superdrug, Burton, and Dixons, among others.

Growing markets
According to Jo Malvern, group brand director for Pigsback, "Online shopping continues to grow year-on-year, but we can't forget the High Street either. Traditional retailers still take a massive slice of consumer spending, and our recent research showed that consumers remain passionate about saving through their High Street shopping."

Gavin Dein, CEO for Reward, added: "Consumers want to save everywhere they can as the credit card crunch intensifies. Retailers need to provide them with the tools to do this if they are to weather falling consumer spending. The growth of loyalty programmes and cashback sites is a testament to their importance, and the right programme can provide an opportunity for retailers to hold onto and drive new custom."
