Points.com loyalty exchange signs 2 new partners

Points International, owner and operator of the loyalty reward management portal, Points.com, has announced the addition of two new loyalty programme partners: Continental Airlines and International Cruise & Excursions (ICE).

Continental Airlines has become the sixth major airline participating in the AirIncentives programme, which allows businesses to reward employees and customers with airline miles of their choice.

Extending both programmes Mark Bergsrud, vice president of marketing and distribution for Continental Airlines, believes that AirIncentives is a good way of expanding the reach and benefits of the OnePass programme in the corporate and incentive marketplace. And according to Points International's CEO, Rob MacLean, Continental's participation will add extra breadth and appeal to the AirIncentives programme.

Continental joined AirIncentives from 14th July 2006, allowing OnePass miles to be offered as a redemption option for customers of businesses using the AirIncentives scheme. According to Points International, the programme's target audience of frequent flyer mile collectors totals some 140 million.

Cruise rewards At the same time, ICE's CruisePoints programme was added to the growing list of loyalty programmes available through the Points.com portal. According to Points International's president, Christopher Barnard, high rates of growth and customer retention make the cruise industry a logical direction in which for Points International to expand.

John R. Rowley, CEO for ICE, explained that being able to apply points from other loyalty programmes to CruisePoints will allow collectors to take advantage of savings on cruises, resorts and other experiential holiday packages. With immediate effect, CruisePoints members can register and manage their account with Points.com.

Points International and ICE say they expect to expand the scope of their partnership again later in 2006.

Existing partners Other programmes already participating in the Points.com loyalty currency exchange include: American Airlines AAdvantage, Amazon.com, Starbucks, Aeroplan, AsiaMiles, Cendant TripRewards, Delta SkyMiles, Gold Points Reward Network, InterContinental Hotels Group's Priority Club Rewards, and S&H Greenpoints.

AirIncentives offers miles with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Continental Airlines OnePass, Delta SkyMiles, Midwest Airlines Midwest Miles, Northwest Airlines WorldPerks, and US Airways Dividend Miles.
