Points.com users to search for redemption ideas

Points International, operator of the Points.com loyalty currency exchange, has improved its online reward management technology by adding a new 'Suggestion Search' tool as an extension of the Suggestion Engine launched in January 2006.

Both registered members of Points.com and other visitors to the site can now use Suggestion Search. For registered members the search query automatically begins with the current loyalty currency balance in their favourite reward programme, and makes suggestions for possible redemption options.

The search criteria can be adjusted so that members can experiment with different points or miles values in different reward programmes.

Simplifying choices According to Grad Conn, CMO for Points International, "Suggestion Search fulfils a vision we outlined when we started the Suggestion Engine project. Our vision was for Points.com to help people find out what to do with their miles and points, using a simple query: 'What can I get with X points in Y programme?'"

Members of Points.com can now generate their own reward strategies using the Suggestion Search tool. The web-based user interface automatically presents them with suggested actions that would make the most effective use of the current balance in each loyalty programme account in their portfolio.

Further expansion Over the next few weeks Points International will extend Suggestion Search throughout the entire Points.com application.

Through Points.com, consumers can swap, earn, buy, gift, share and redeem miles and points from more than 25 loyalty programmes worldwide, including AAdvantage, Aeroplan, AsiaMiles, Cendant TripRewards, SkyMiles, Gold Points Reward Network, Priority Club Rewards, and S&H greenpoints. Other redemption partners include Amazon.com and Starbucks.
