Despite some significant technical failings at the outset of this year’s event, Amazon went on to break its own sales records.  It makes one wonder – has Amazon’s Prime Day surpassed the critical moment when its simply too big to fail?  Has it become such an integral part of the retail vernacular that the shopping public will look past problems that would otherwise hobble any other organization?
