Rewards Network educates young Americans

The restaurant and hotel loyalty reward programme operator, Rewards Network Inc., has joined forces with youth support marketing firm, eScrip, to create a new retail loyalty programme that allows members to earn contributions of up to 10% toward their choice of youth education support organisations.

Through the new Rewards Network for eScrip programme, contributions to member-selected organisations can be earned at more than 17,500 participating restaurants and hotels in the USA (comprising 10,500 restaurants and 7,000 hotels). Restaurants award a contribution of up to 10% of the total spent, while hotels award a contribution of up to 8% of the room-rate total.

Families can sign up online for the programme and select up to three organisations to support. Then, when they dine at participating restaurants, or stay at participating hotels, and pay with a credit or debit card that has been registered with eScrip, Rewards Network tracks the transaction and automatically forwards the appropriate contribution to the members' designated organisations.

"This is a very simple and effective way for individuals and companies to provide support for organisations in their communities that nurture this country's youth," said George Wiedemann, president and CEO for Rewards Network.

"With 17,500 hotels and restaurants nationwide added to our programme, eScrip members have a wonderful new opportunity to easily and effectively make a difference in their children's lives," added Richard Sutch, executive vice president of marketing for eScrip.
