Sears Canada extends fee-based loyalty scheme

Sears Canada has now made its Mature Outlook fee-based loyalty programme available to Sears Catalogue customers for the first time, offering the programme's 400,000 members the convenience of an extra purchasing channel.

At the same time, the Sears Mature Outlook programme (which is designed specifically for the retailer's over-50 customers) has also been packaged as a boxed membership kit. Customers in Sears department stores, Home stores and Outlet stores can pick the kit up off the shelf to instantly receive the programme's benefits.

"The interest in the programme has been phenomenal," said Liane Cecchetto, manager of fee-based programmes for Sears Canada Inc. "In fact, we have recently passed the 400,000 member mark. And the new boxed membership kit makes a great gift for friends and family over 50."

For the annual membership fee of Can$19.99, the programme provides more than Can$1,300 in savings, including more than Can$300 in instant savings coupons for products and services from Sears and Sears HomeCentral. Members also receive a one year subscription to New Outlook, a quarterly magazine containing articles of interest to the 50 plus consumer. Members can also take advantage of VIP rates at 260 Choice Hotels in Canada, and at more than 3,500 locations around the world.
