Sears expands offers and options for customers
Sears Roebuck is to expand the options and offers available to its customers with the introduction of new strategic partnerships in the travel, entertainment, dining and retail sectors. The programme, to be launched early in 2003, will also provide cross-promotional opportunities for participating companies.
Sears Card customers already use their cards for purchases in Sears stores and authorised or licensed retail outlets. Through the new programme, acceptance will be broadened to strategic partner businesses, opening up opportunities to cross-promote their products and services to Sears' 40 million card holders.
"The changes we're bringing are in response to feedback from our customers," explained Kevin Keleghan, president of Sears credit and financial services. "Just over half of our card holders have converted to the Sears Gold MasterCard. However, a number of our customers have told us they want to keep their existing Sears Card but are also interested in new ways to use their card for products they buy everyday as well as for special purchases."
Global Payments will operate the payment gateway for processing services offered to the new partners. The firm will work with the existing processors of those partner companies in order to implement the programme smoothly.
