Toys'R'Us launches new loyalty programme

Just in time for the Holiday shopping rush, Toys'R'Us has launched a new loyalty membership programme, Rewards'R'Us, to thank its best and most frequent customers.

Customers can sign up for the complimentary programme at any Toys'R'Us or Babies'R'Us store nationwide or on a web site. Once enrolled, customers are immediately eligible for a number of one-time offers and ongoing benefits, deals and promotions.

As part of the programme, Rewards'R'Us members can earn 'R'Us Dollars on qualifying purchases through special promotions. The first of these promotions, timed to take advantage of the holiday season, gives active members a US$5 reward certificate for every US$150 of merchandise bought online or in-store. The promotion runs until 24th December 2008.

For the company's customers who are shopping for babies, the programme features a Diaper Rewards component, through which members can earn one free value box of Pampers diapers when nine Pampers value boxes are purchased.

Among the other ongoing perks of the programme are:

  • Safety Notifications: If members provide an active e-mail address, they will automatically receive notices if a product they purchased with their membership at an 'R'Us store or online has been recalled. This is in addition to the safety e-mail notification for which all 'R'Us customers are encouraged to sign-up.
  • Exclusive Member Shopping Nights: Throughout the year, members will receive advance notice of in-store sales and events. These will include special store hours and access to exclusive temporary price reductions on select merchandise.
  • Exclusive Savings and E-mail Discount Offers: From time to time, members will be offered savings and discounts on top of those given weekly to all customers. In addition, members who opt-in and provide an active e-mail address will receive electronic savings that can be used on the Toys'R'Us or Babies'R'Us web sites.
