Local Hospitality Conglomerate To Offer Bitcoin Rewards Program

Highlight: Last week, Landry’s announced a new partnership with NYDIG, a leading bitcoin company, to power a bitcoin loyalty rewards program for the millions of customers in Landry’s loyalty program, Landry’s Select Club. According to a release, the partnership will allow members to earn bitcoin points when dining at any of its 500 locations nationwide. The news follows another recent announcement as the hospitality group shared that they now accept payments made in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash at select locations.

Loudoun Schools Launch Loyalty Program to Assuage Substitute Shortage

Highlight: To abate the limited availability of substitute teachers, Loudoun County Public Schools will implement a loyalty program and offer 50% pay bumps on high-volume days. The loyalty program rate, an 18% pay increase at $133.37 per day, kicks in when a substitute teacher takes his or her 26th substitute teaching job of the 2021-2022 school year. The loyalty program is available to any subbing position in any school. The program begins Nov. 1 but will be implemented retroactively, counting previously served jobs during the current school year.

Burger King’s Loyalty Program Lets You Trade Crowns for Crypto Thanks to Robinhood Partnership

Highlight: If you’d like a little cryptocurrency with your Whopper and fries, you’re in luck. Thanks to a new partnership between Burger King and Robinhood, members of the fast-food chain’s Royal Perks loyalty program can win Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin when they spend $5 on the Burger King app or website. The way the reward distribution system works, most customers will get Dogecoin as a reward. According to the Burger King website, the prize pool will include 2 million Doge, 200 Ether and 20 Bitcoin. That puts your odds at winning a Bitcoin at about one in 100,000, Fortune reported.

Alitalia Launches Auction for Its Loyalty Programme

Highlight: Alitalia on Wednesday launched the sale of its Millemiglia loyalty programme, in another step to dispose its assets before being wound down. The troubled Italian carrier, which last month was replaced by state-owned ITA Airways, said groups interested in entering the data room for the auction needed to express interest by December 10. Binding bids for the Millemiglia programme, which has a base price of 50.6 million euros ($57.22 million), are due by Dec. 13, Alitalia said.
